California Can Restrict Social Media Feeds

The tech industry’s bid to block a California law restricting their use of algorithms on minors’ social media feeds backfired Tuesday after the Ninth Circuit lifted a hold on a key component of the statute, Isaiah Poritz reports.

NetChoice, whose members include Meta Platforms and X, failed to show that the provisions in question violate the First Amendment rights of social media platforms and their users.
