Caltech Sues Zoom Over Video Patent Linked to Tech Used at CERN

The California Institute of Technology accused Zoom Communications Inc.’s videoconferencing platform of infringing a patent developed to support physics research at the European laboratory that runs the Large Hadron Collider.

Zoom’s platform—marketed under names including Zoom Workplace, Zoom Meetings, and Zoom One,—infringes US Patent No. 8,316,104, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
