Residents in California and 21 other Democrat-led states could lose their food stamp benefits soon, Skylar Woodhouse reports.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said Tuesday she’s considering pulling those benefits unless the states provide more details on the aid recipients. She claimed related fraud is high, but her department said in June that most food stamps “are used as intended.”
The move is the Trump administration’s latest attempt to roll back such benefits, which 42 million Americans receive. About 5.5 million California residents receive these benefits, according to California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office. Read More
