Some University of California researchers are getting an unpleasant Christmas Eve surprise, after the Ninth Circuit ruled yesterday that the Trump administration can withhold millions in federal grant funds.
The federal appeals court paused a lower court’s injunction for researchers whose grants the administration terminated by a form letter without a specific explanation. The court left the injunction in place for experts whose grants were canceled under President Donald Trump’s DEI executive orders.
