A Yale Law School student’s appellate bid to proceed anonymously in her suit seeking to stop the school from discharging her from its program has been denied by the Second Circuit.

The unnamed student, seeking to sue as a Jane Doe, argued the district court’s decision refusing to allow her to proceed under a pseudonym will result in disclosure of her medical history and diagnosed condition, diminishing her academic and employment opportunities and exacerbating her psychiatric conditions.
