Wright, Former Students End $100 Million Defamation Fight (1)

A former FTC commissioner who sued two lawyers for defamation over their accusations of sexual misconduct has dropped the suit, days before it was set for trial.

Joshua Wright, a Republican FTC commissioner who represented tech giants at Wilson Sonsini, sued his ex-students Elyse Dorsey and Angela Landry in August 2023. Wright claimed their public allegations—that he abused his role as a George Mason law professor and leveraged his influence in the legal industry to receive sexual favors from them—destroyed his career.
