U.S. Women’s Soccer Players Seek Class Status in Pay Bias Suit

The U.S. women’s soccer team asked a federal court to grant it class status in a lawsuit accusing the U.S. Soccer Federation of paying them substantially less than men’s players based on sex.

Lead plaintifs Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, Megan Rapinoe, and Becky Sauerbrunn seek to act as class representatives, the filing with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said.

“All four women are prepared to vigorously represent the interests of the members of this Class,” the motion for class certification said.
