The State Bar of Wisconsin removed the mention of race in two programs to settle the remaining portion of a lawsuit argued by a conservative group.
New program language agreed upon by the bar and lawyer who brought the suit states that “diversity means including people with differing characteristics, beliefs, experiences, interests, and viewpoints” and doesn’t mention race.
“We are pleased to have reached an amicable agreement,” the bar’s immediate past president, Ryan Billings, said in a statement Wednesday.
