Willkie Adds Real Estate Duo Bain, Smith as Partners From Akin

John Bain and Wes Smith joined Willkie Farr & Gallagher as partners in its real estate practice in Dallas, the firm announced Monday.

Bain represents purchasers, sellers, lenders, landlords, and tenants in real estate and real estate finance transactions. He focuses on purchases, sales, financings, refinancings, and debt restructurings, particularly in the hospitality and leisure sectors, the firm said.

Smith represents institutional investor borrowers and lenders in mortgage and mezzanine loan origination and restructuring. He works on construction and bridge loans, participations and co-lender arrangements secured by various asset classes, including digital infrastructure and hospitality, the firm said.
