TikTok’s future in the US is heading toward its moment of truth.

President Joe Biden signed bipartisan legislation on Wednesday that will ban the social media app in the US unless its Chinese owner gives up control of it. TikTok’s parent, ByteDance Ltd., now has 270 days to find a buyer.

The legislation sailed through both chambers of Congress in recent days after Speaker Mike Johnson included the TikTok divestiture legislation in a fast-moving aid package for Ukraine and Israel.
