Weil Recruits Karen Chao as Private Funds Partner in New York

Karen Chao joined Weil, Gotshal & Manges as a partner in its private funds practice in New York, the firm announced Thursday.

Chao represents alternative asset managers in the formation and structuring of private equity and other private investment fund vehicles, the firm said. She also advises sponsors on operational, regulatory, governance, and other ongoing life of fund and sponsor matters.

She joins from Goodwin Procter.
