Weil Gotshal & Manges said Mike Aiello will chair a newly-created leadership committee as executive partner Barry Wolf prepares to retire at the end of 2027.
Aiello heads the more than 600-lawyer corporate practice and has been a member of the management committee. Wolf, who has served as executive partner since 2009, will be retiring after he reaches the firm’s mandatory retirement age of 68.
The firm will name a successor to Wolf as executive partner by the first quarter of 2026 to give the new person a two-year transition period, according to a firm statement.
