Robert Stern has joined Weil, Gotshal & Manges as a partner in the securities practice in Washington, the firm said Tuesday.
Stern has represented financial institutions, Fortune 100 companies, officers and directors of public companies and accounting firms in defending major state and federal actions, according to Weil.
He was previously a partner at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe and served as chair of its White Collar, Investigations, Securities Litigation & Compliance Practice Group, Weil said.
“I am thrilled to be a part of Weil’s premier securities and enforcement team and look forward to working with the outstanding lawyers across the global platform to advise clients on their most challenging matters,” Stern said.
