  • Joshua Kleinfeld, chief counsel to the Secretary Education, is seeking to become dean of George Mason University’s law school while his agency is investigating the university over alleged DEI violations. In his application, Kleinfeld highlighted his government connections and suggested he could improve the school’s relationship with federal agencies. (Above the Law)
  • Another new law firm is taking root in Washington’s crowded legal market, led by three former prosecutors departing established defense firms. The firm, Liu Shur Kravis, is helmed ‌by Jessie Liu of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; Justin Shur of MoloLamken; and Jonathan Kravis of Munger, Tolles & Olson. (Reuters)
  • A Texas Tech University law student is suing university leaders, arguing they violated her free speech rights by disciplining her over comments about the killing of conservative Charlie Kirk. Ellen Fisher, a third-year law student and founder of the school’s NAACP chapter, says discussions of the killing among students and faculty happened in classes and clinics throughout the day, but Fisher was the only student investigated and punished.
