- Lawyers from Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro and Winston & Strawn representing the plaintiffs in a proposed 2.8 billion settlement with the National Collegiate Athletic Association over compensation for student-athletes are asking a federal judge to award them more than $515 million in attorneys’ fees and costs. (Reuters)
- Lisa Zornberg, who served as chief legal counsel to New York City Mayor Eric Adams and city hall before resigning earlier this year amid an escalating investigation into Adams’ administration, is rejoining private practice. She will join New York-based law firm Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello as a partner on March 3. (Law.com)
- Bryant Kroll, a city attorney for Millersville, Tenn., resigned and walked off the job when a city commissioner motioned to reduce his pay from $200 per hour to $15 per hour. The motion came after a discussion on how much money the city was earmarking for legal services. The measure was pulled after Kroll’s resignation and therefore will not take effect. (The Tennessean)

- Bryan Robson and William Gwyn joined Simpson Thacher & Bartlett as leveraged finance partners in London. They join from Sidley Austin.
- Jen Cafferty Patton was promoted to chief operating officer at Foley & Lardner. She was previously the firm’s chief talent officer.
- Navin Sethi joined EisnerAmper as a tax partner in its financial services group.
