Wake Up Call: Law Firm Mergers Take Cue From A&O Shearman Tie Up

• Two recent legal mergers took a page from the formation of A&O Shearman, which combined leading firms based in London and New York. In June, Australian-British firm Herbert Smith Freehills merged with New York-based Kramer Levin. And last month, Chicago-based McDermott Will & Emery, which has a big presence in London, joined forces with Manhattan’s Schulte Roth & Zabel. (City AM)
