  • David Boies has been hired by Delta Air Lines to go after CrowdStrike and Microsoft Corp. for damages stemming from the recent IT outage. The tech failure caused millions of Microsoft Windows devices to crash and led to widespread flight cancellations. (CNBC)
  • The death of a partner at Pinsent Masons has prompted widespread discussion in the industry about corporate culture and whether high starting salaries are worth the stress placed on recruits. LawCare, a legal mental health charity, said it saw a 14% rise in people requesting support last year, with a significant number saying they had suffered workplace bullying. (The Guardian)
  • Burns & Levinson remains in merger talks after nearly half of the firm’s attorneys recently departed. The firm is unlikely to attract an Am Law 200 merger partner in its current form, but could still merge with a firm that’s looking to enter the Boston market. (AmLaw)
  • Three former employees of Seton Hall Law School have pleaded guilty to a $1.3 million scheme to defraud the New Jersey university. The trio admitted to a scam that included asking vendors to pay them directly, purchasing hundreds of thousands dollars worth of gift cards and forming a shell company to bill the university for services never rendered.   • Hathaway Pease Russell was promoted to managing partner at Foley Hoag.
