- The current Uniform Bar Exam’s end date has been bumped from July 2027 to February 2028, the National Conference of Bar Examiners says, meaning the current exam and the new “NextGen Bar Exam” will be offered concurrently for two years. The group, which designs the national portions of the test, said its new exam—designed “to balance the skills and knowledge needed in litigation and transactional legal practice"—will start in July 2026.
