Veteran Legal Chiefs Launch Velocity to Work Within Clients

A pair of former law department leaders and a longtime human resources executive are starting Velocity Edge Advisors Inc., an outfit that seeks to provide “on-demand” legal and people services to a range of clients looking to avoid the financial overhead that often comes with such corporate cost centers.

Douglas Luftman, most recently chief legal officer for the Huge Legal Technology Corp., an estate planning startup doing business as Trust & Will, has teamed up with Voltage Law Group’s Monica Winghart—who has worked in-house at Clorox Co. and several other companies—to form Velocity.
