Verdict in Doubt After Jurors Called Legal Team ‘Cosby Show’

Alleged racial bias by jurors required the Sixth Circuit on Tuesday to set aside the rule prohibiting a juror’s testimony to impeach a jury verdict in a case a Black man brought against a White police officer alleging an excessive use of force during a late-night altercation in a convenience store.

T.H. was the only Black juror in John Harden’s suit against Officer Keith Hillman of the Heritage Creek, Ky., police department. She is light skinned and said the other jurors spoke freely around her because they thought she was Hispanic.
