Venable Recruits Former FTC Competition Official Abbott in DC

Christopher Abbott joined Venable as a partner in its antitrust practice in Washington, DC, the firm announced Monday.

Abbott brings experience handling complex antitrust matters involving mergers and acquisitions, government investigations, and class action litigation. He advises clients on all phases of the deal-making process, including antitrust risk assessments, regulatory strategy, and advocacy before the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice, the firm said.

He joins from Jenner & Block, according to his LinkedIn profile. He’s a former attorney in the FTC’s Bureau of Competition.
