Vanguard Group Defeats Age Bias Suit Brought by Fired Executive

Vanguard Group Inc. beat an age bias suit brought by a longtime executive who claims he was fired just after his fiftieth birthday, as a federal judge ruled that the executive didn’t present evidence of age discrimination.

John J. D’Angelo claims that he was fired after his manager asked him questions about his age, and then was replaced by a younger man. But Vanguard alleges that it fired D’Angelo after an investigation revealed a pattern of unprofessional and inappropriate conduct.
