A bill aiming to curb diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at businesses that hold federal contracts has gained new life just as Republicans are set to take control of both chambers of Congress and the White House.
The sweeping bill, authored by Vice President-elect Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), would bar the US government from hiring corporate contractors with pro-DEI practices and redefine DEI as discrimination by amending the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
