The Department of Veterans Affairs plans to modernize and replace aging IBM mainframe computing systems at two U.S. data centers, according to a request for information released Jan. 29. The proposal, which could generate $100 million or more in obligations over five years, will likely generate significant interest among providers of private cloud services.
