The US audit board is launching a new advisory panel as part of a planned overhaul of its inspection program responsible for scrutinizing the work of nearly 200 accounting firms around the world each year.
The “modernization council” is set to begin meeting as soon as July to help “shape” a new direction for inspections, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board said Thursday.
