The US accounting standard-setter will discuss Wednesday whether to tackle how companies should report cryptocurrency transfers in their financial reports.

The Financial Accounting Standards Board is set to focus on whether it should add a project to its technical agenda related to accounting for crypto asset transfers. The board will discuss possible routes, including expanding the scope of its landmark 2023 rules, clarifying derecognition guidance for crypto asset transfers, or both.
