UK Firm Ashurst Boosts London Junior Lawyer Pay by 12 Percent

Ashurst LLP has boosted pay for its newly qualified lawyers in London by £15,000 ($20,000), raising their pay to £140,000 ($190,000) per year, a spokesperson for the firm confirmed.

The rise puts it closer to the uppermost echelon with UK-founded rivals such as Freshfields and Linklaters, which last year bumped pay for their junior lawyers up to £150,000.

Ashurst noted a jump in its last reported revenue for the fiscal year, which ended in April last year with a 9% increase to £961 million ($1.3 billion). Its profits per equity partner rose by 14% to a record £1.3 million ($1.77 ...
