Tyson’s Second Turkey Antitrust Settlement Gets Court Approval

Restaurants leading antitrust litigation over an alleged industrywide turkey price-fixing scheme secured final approval from a federal judge in Chicago for a $1.75 million settlement with Tyson Foods Inc., a month after the judge gave a nod to Tyson’s $4.6 million deal with wholesalers.

Judge Virginia M. Kendall signed off Thursday on the agreement, which resolves claims brought against Tyson in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on behalf of “commercial and institutional indirect purchasers.” She called the pact “in all respects fair, reasonable, and adequate.”
