Tucker Ellis elected a new managing partner, the firm announced Monday.
James Mizgala, who will begin his tenure Jan. 1, is currently the partner in charge of the firm’s Chicago office. He will replace Joe Morford, who was elected to the post in 2010.
“In just over 22 years, we have grown from a startup into one of the nation’s most respected law firms without ever compromising the values that shape us—exceptional client service and an unwavering commitment to our people,” Morford said in a statement. “I’m working closely with James throughout this transition and I’m confident that the future of the firm is in outstanding hands.”
Mizgala is the current partner-in-charge of the firm’s Chicago office. The litigator specializes in complex commercial disputes and consumer fraud matters. Mizgala joined the firm nearly 10 years ago.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to guide our continued growth while building on the strong foundation Joe has established,” Mizgala said in a statement.
The firm launched in 2003 and has more than 240 lawyers and 11 offices across the US including in New York City, Los Angeles and Cleveland. Tucker Ellis made more than $145.1 million in gross revenue and gave each of its equity partners $766,000, according to data from The American Lawyer.
