Kirkland & Ellis and Quinn Emanuel have a connection to President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming administration with the selection of Christopher Landau for the deputy secretary of state role.
Landau, who served as US ambassador to Mexico in Trump’s first administration from 2019 to 2021, spent 25 years as a Kirkland partner, leading the firm’s appellate group at one point before joining joined Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in 2018.
