Trump Lawyer Who Pushed False Electors Disbarred in New York

A lawyer accused of providing the legal framework for then-candidate Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 presidential election has been banned from practicing law in New York.

An appellate court panel of the New York State Supreme Court disbarred Kenneth Chesebro in the state on Thursday, citing his alleged attempts to submit false electors to Congress on President Trump’s behalf in the 2020 election. Chesebro pleaded guilty in October 2023 to charges of conspiring to submit false documents that sought to throw the Georgia election in Trump’s favor.
