Manhattan litigator Barry Berke and a team of white collar attorneys from Kramer Levin are joining Gibson Dunn.
Berke, who served as lead counsel for the US House of Representatives in former president Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment, officially joins the firm Wednesday, according to an internal email viewed by Bloomberg Law. He recently defended Bill Hwang, the Archegos Capital Management founder convicted on fraud charges stemming from the firm’s 2021 collapse.
Joining him at Gibson Dunn are Kramer Levin attorneys Dani James, Jordan Estes, Darren LaVerne, and Mike Martinez. Berke and James were co-chairs of Kramer Levin’s white collar group.
Kramer Levin and Gibson Dunn did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
