Triple Canopy Beats Janus Protest of $198 Million Security Award

Janus Global Operations LLC failed to show that the Army improperly awarded Triple Canopy Inc. a $198 million contract to provide security services to Department of Defense personnel and facilities at multiple locations in Kuwait, the GAO said in a decision released Tuesday.

The Army used a reasonable best-value tradeoff determination before selecting Triple Canopy, because the agency identified multiple aspects of the awardee’s bid that were considered materially superior to Janus’s $142 million bid, the Government Accountability Office said.

The agency specifically referenced Triple Canopy’s superiority with regard to surge capability and logistics management, the GAO said.
