Trade Commissioner Schmidtlein to Join WilmerHale After US Post

International Trade Commission member Rhonda Schmidtlein will join WilmerHale in April after she resigns effective Feb. 1, the firm announced Thursday.

Schmidtlein will advise clients as a partner in the firm’s international trade, investment and market access practice group, WilmerHale said in a statement. Her move to the private sector comes after serving on the commission as a Democrat since 2014 after President Barack Obama nominated her. Her tenure included a stint as chair in 2017 and 2018.
