TPG Taps Debevoise & Plimpton Merger Specialist as Legal Head

TPG Inc. has named Jennifer Chu, a corporate partner and deputy co-chair of the mergers and acquisitions practice at Debevoise & Plimpton, to be its top lawyer.

Chu will join TPG as of March 31 as a partner, chief legal officer, and general counsel, according to a late Tuesday announcement by the global alternative asset management firm. She replaces Bradford Berenson, who will transition to a senior advisory role ahead of his retirement from TPG at year’s end.
