Top Disney Lawyer Gets $16 Million Pay Package, Extends Contract

The Walt Disney Co.’s chief legal and government affairs officer Horacio Gutierrez saw his total compensation increase slightly in fiscal 2025, to almost $16.3 million, according to a proxy statement filed late Thursday.

Gutierrez, who joined Disney in 2022 after serving as the top lawyer at Spotify Technology SA, earned more than $10.1 million in stock and option awards and roughly $6 million in cash. The filing by the Burbank, Calif.-based conglomerate noted that Gutierrez and Disney amended his employment agreement in November to keep him at the company through September 2028.
