Three Firms Help Brazil Company Buy Golden Gate’s PetroChoice

Kirkland & Ellis and Reed Smith are advising San Francisco-based private equity firm Golden Gate Capital on the sale of its portfolio company PetroChoice Lubrication Solutions, which says it’s the biggest U.S. lubricant distributor.

Paul Hastings is advising the buyer, Moove, a Brazilian producer and distributor of lubricants and base oils, on its $479 million purchase. Moove is a subsidiary of Brazil-based energy and logistics investments group Cosan S.A. Reed Smith and Kirkland is also counseling PetroChoice on the deal, according to a statement.
