Once a week, Louis Begley, 82, visits the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton, where he is a retired partner.

“I usually go there on firm lunch day,” said Begley. “It gives me a chance to see my old partners and the young partners I don’t know. I cannot overstate my affection for my firm.”
