Tesla Inc.’s new general counsel, Brandon Ehrhart, joins the company as it continues to build the “hardcore litigation department” announced by Elon Musk last year.
The Musk-led electric automaker, which recently recruited Ehrhart to be its legal chief, has added more than a dozen in-house lawyers within the past half-year. The hires include several litigators with experience at major law firms.
Musk said in a May tweet that he was building a litigation team to “initiate & execute lawsuits” and report directly to him. Tesla has a robust litigation docket that keeps outside lawyers busy on everything from employment issues ...
