The Supreme Court agreed to consider if the US Postal Service can be held liable for not delivering mail to a Texas woman who claims her carrier discriminated against her because she’s Black.
In an order Monday, the justices accepted the federal government’s appeal of a lower court ruling that allowed Lebene Konan’s lawsuit to proceed under the Federal Tort Claims Act.
Konan, who owns two rental properties, claims her postal carrier refused to deliver mail addressed to her and her tenants, and changed the lock on the mailbox at one property so only her White tenant could access it. ...
