Standard Chartered Adds World Bank Lawyer in Weighing China Step

Standard Chartered Plc has hired the World Bank’s senior vice president and general counsel as it considers opening a standalone wealth management unit in China.

Sandie Okoro, the first Black woman to hold the World Bank post, will depart in April to become general counsel at London-based Standard Chartered. She spent five years at the World Bank, where she also holds the title of vice president of compliance.
