SportsEdTV Subscriber Advances Suit Over Info Sharing With Meta

SportsEdTV Inc. must face a proposed class action alleging it shared the viewing histories of subscribers with Meta Platforms Inc. without their consent in violation of state and federal privacy laws.

Nick Balestrieri alleged a concrete injury sufficient to establish his standing to sue in federal court, and adequately pleaded claims under the California Invasion of Privacy Act and the Video Privacy Protection Act, Magistrate Judge Sallie Kim of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Tuesday.
