Spencer Fane is moving into New York City, combining with 50-lawyer Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell & Peskoe.

Kansas City, Missouri-founded Spencer Fane has been on the move, combining with law firms across the country over the past few years to expand its geographic reach. Last year, the firm went to Utah and New Mexico, and grew its presence in Las Vegas in a combination with Holley Driggs.

The Golenbock combination, which is expected to close Feb. 2, 2026, will give Spencer Fane more than 700 lawyers across 31 offices, the firms said in a statement.

“We have long recognized the opportunity to serve clients in the New York market, but we have also been determined to find a group that meets two, more important criteria for our firm—aligning with our firm culturally while also adding distinctive value to our clients,” Spencer Fane Chair Patrick Whalen said in a statement.

Spencer Fane brought in more than $321 million in revenue and partner profits weighed in at $764,000 last year, according to figures reported by the American Lawyer.

“This combination is about more than expanding our reach—it’s about joining with a firm that shares our philosophy of putting clients first and fostering a collaborative, values-driven culture,” Golenbock Co-Managing Partner Jeffrey Berger said in a statement.
