Southwest Negotiates Class Settlement Over Paid Military Leave

Southwest Airlines Co. and a class of more than 6,000 employees reached a settlement in a lawsuit saying the airline wrongly refused to provide paid leave for periods of military service.

The parties struck a deal following a series of private mediation sessions and plan to submit details of their class settlement by June 19, they said in a notice filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
