Soros-Led Open Society Foundations Hires Jones Day Partner (1)

George Soros‘s Open Society Foundations will soon have a new top lawyer in Jones Day partner Catherine Livingston, the grant-making network led by the billionaire philanthropist announced Monday.

Livingston will officially join Open Society as general counsel Sept. 6. She replaces former legal chief Gail Scovell, who stepped down this year from the organization founded and chaired by Soros, who has an $8.5 billion fortune, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

“I look forward to helping advance the priorities of the Foundations and build more tolerant and inclusive societies,” Livingston said in a statement.
