- The purchase will help Nokia expand its networks

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Nordic law firm Roschier, Attorneys Ltd steered Nokia Oyj in its $2.3 billion deal to purchase Infinera Corp., which will expand the company’s networking products for data centers and increase its presence in North America.
Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati guided Infinera in the transaction.
Skadden’s team included London-based corporate partners Denis Klimentchenko and Lorenzo Corte, who is global head of the firms transactions practice.
Klimentchenko has represented Nokia in previous matters including its $17 billion combination with Alcatel-Lucent and its acquisition of Panasonic System Networks Company Japan. Corte’s notable deals include guiding Adevinta and its special committee in a $15 billion takeover offer to acquire Adevinta’s shares by a consortium led by Permira and Blackstone.
Other Skadden lawyers on the deal include antitrust partners Steven Sunshine, Frederic Depoortere and Joseph Rancour; intellectual property and privacy partner Ken Kumayama; executive compensation and benefits partner Erica Schohn; labor and employment law partner David Schwartz; national security partner Mike Leiter and tax partner Eric Sensenbrenner.
