Skadden, Wachtell Aid Prada Plan to Buy Versace for $1.3 Billion

Big Law firms steered Milan-based Prada SpA’s plans to purchase Versace from Capri Holdings Ltd. for about $1.38 billion in cash.

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom guided Prada, and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz steered legal matters for Capri Holdings, which purchased Versace for €1.8 billion ($2 billion) in 2018.

The plans were announced despite global market turmoil fueled by President Donald Trump’s tariffs. The deal is expected to close in the second half of the year.

Skadden’s team was led by Cristina Tomassini, Sandro de Bernardini and Peter Serating in London and New York.
