Sidley, Davis Polk Groom Bansk Group’s Deal for Haircare Brands

Davis Polk & Wardwell advised consumer-products focused private equity firm Bansk Group on its agreement to acquire a majority stake in hair care brands Amika and Eva NYC.

Sidley Austin said it counseled Amika and Eva NYC on the transaction. No financial details were disclosed.

According to Bansk’s statement, Amika makes “professional quality” haircare products without harmful ingredients. Eva NYC makes “masstige”—prestigious but affordable—hair products with recyclable aluminum packaging and “cruelty-free,” vegan ingredients.

Upon the transaction’s close, Amika and Eva NYC will continue to operate as individual brands under their current presidents, the statement said.
