Sidley Taps Fahrney as Chair-Elect of Executive Committee (1)

Sidley Austin has elected partner Brian Fahrney as the next chair of the law firm’s executive committee.

Fahrney is global co-leader of Sidley’s M&A and private equity group. He will assume the new role in April, when current executive committee chair Michael Schmidtberger steps down, the firm said in a statement.

Sidley’s management committee chair, Yvette Ostolaza, will remain in her role, according to the firm.

Fahrney said the firm’s strategy will continue to focus on growth in areas including private equity, investment funds, investigations, bankruptcy, and major litigation.
