Shell’s Hirstius Hits Out at Trump Attacks on Wind Projects: FT

Shell’s top executive in the US has criticizedthe Trump administration’s decision to halt fully permitted offshore wind energy projects, saying in an interview with the Financial Times that it’s “very damaging” to investment.

Colette Hirstius, who took over as president of Shell USA in August, told the FT that energy projects with proper permits should be allowed to proceed — and called for more predictable regulation.

“I think uncertainty in the regulatory environment is very damaging,” she said. “However far the pendulum swings one way, it’s likely that it’s going to swing just as far the other way.” ...
